shoulder pain

where does it hurt?

Shoulder pain

The shoulder joint is one of the most complex joints of the human body. The shoulder depends on multiple systems of ligaments, muscles and tendons. These systems work together to stabilize the shoulder and provide functional movement along with allowing other supporting joints to do the same.

When trauma is present to the shoulder joint; it’s imperative to not overlook soft tissue or bone damage. This can be assessed through diagnostic imaging which we perform on site. When shoulder instability is present, it can present with; lack of movement, pain that travels and/or restricted use of the shoulder and arm complex.

Some of the shoulder conditions we treat as a clinical team include the following:

  • Adhesive capsulitis
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Rotator Cuff Tears, Strains and Sprains
  • Scapular dysfunctions
  • Shoulder impingement (syndrome)
  • Shoulder instability
  • Shoulder tendinopathy

It’s important to establish a whole health concept when it comes to treatment of the shoulder joint complex. This simply means targeting any inflammatory components through natural anti-inflammatory therapeutics, soft tissue mobilization, Chiropractic manipulation of the joint, acupuncture, massage therapy, cold laser therapy, therapeutic ultrasound, electrical neuromuscular stimulation and functional rehabilitation of the joint. An evidence based approach takes into consideration relief of pain, correction of movement/ mechanics and maintaining what you’ve corrected to get yourself to pre-injury status.
